Increasing the focal length doesn’t slow a telescope down — it increases the workload, which in turn takes more time.

Each chalk is an equal unit of time — in this example, arbitrarily, one minute.

“Finished” = only 0.01% of the sensor’s target still bare. A target never truly fills.
